Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 1, 2026  ·  Last Updated: July 1, 2026

Plain-English Summary: Junk Removal Club is a two-sided marketplace. When you search for haulers we collect location and usage data. When you request a quote we collect contact information and share it with haulers in your area to fulfill your request. When you use JunkScan AI we process photos you upload through OpenAI's API. We use Google Analytics for site measurement. We do not sell your personal information to data brokers. Full details are below.

01 Scope & Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to Junk Removal Club ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of junkremovalclub.com and all associated subdomains, APIs, and services (collectively, the "Platform"). We are a national online marketplace that connects consumers seeking junk removal services with independent junk removal service providers ("Haulers").

This Policy applies to all individuals who interact with the Platform, including:

  • Consumers — homeowners, renters, property managers, and businesses who use the Platform to search for or book junk removal services.
  • Service Providers / Haulers — junk removal companies and independent operators who list their business, create profiles, or access leads through the Platform.
  • Visitors — any person who browses the Platform without creating an account or submitting information.
  • Job Posters — individuals who post junk removal jobs on our Job Board.

By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

03 Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide — Consumers

  • Search & browse data: City, county, zip code, and state entered in search queries.
  • Quote request data: First name, last name, email address, phone number, service address, preferred date and time, type of items to be removed, and any notes you provide when submitting a quote request or booking inquiry.
  • JunkScan AI submissions: Photos you upload of items you want removed, along with your zip code or city for pricing localization. Photos may contain metadata including camera model and, if location services are enabled on your device, GPS coordinates embedded in EXIF data.
  • Job Board postings: Job description, service address, item types, photos, preferred timeline, and budget range.
  • Contact form submissions: Name, email address, and the content of your message.
  • Account credentials (if applicable): Username and hashed password if you create an account.

3.2 Information You Provide — Service Providers / Haulers

  • Business identity: Company name, business address, phone number, email address, and website URL.
  • Service area: Cities, counties, zip codes, and states in which you operate.
  • Credentials & compliance documents: Business license number, state registration information, and general liability insurance certificates uploaded during profile creation or verification.
  • Profile content: Business description, service specialties, pricing information, photos of your team or trucks, and logo images.
  • Account credentials: Email address and hashed password for profile management access.
  • Lead activity data: Records of leads received, quote submissions made through the Platform, and job board bids — used for Platform analytics and quality monitoring.

3.3 Information Collected Automatically

  • Log data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time spent on pages, and timestamp of each request — recorded in server logs.
  • Device data: Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet), screen resolution, and browser language preferences.
  • Analytics data: Behavioral signals including clicks, scroll depth, search queries, and navigation paths — collected via Google Analytics 4 and Ahrefs Analytics.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: Session identifiers, preference cookies, and analytics cookies. See Section 6 for full details.
  • Approximate geolocation: City and region-level location inferred from IP address. We do not collect precise GPS-level location from your browser unless you explicitly grant permission.

04 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To operate the marketplace: Displaying relevant hauler listings, processing quote requests, routing leads to Service Providers, operating the Job Board, and maintaining user and business profiles.
  • To power JunkScan AI: Processing uploaded photos through our AI pipeline to generate junk volume and price estimates. See Section 7 for full details.
  • To verify Service Providers: Reviewing business licenses, insurance certificates, and service area claims to maintain directory accuracy and protect Consumers.
  • To respond to inquiries: Answering contact form submissions, support requests, and listing-related questions.
  • To send transactional communications: Confirmations of quote requests, lead notifications to Haulers, account-related notices, and job board alerts.
  • To measure and improve the Platform: Analyzing how users interact with search results, which cities and categories generate the most activity, and identifying features to build or improve.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse: Identifying spam listings, fake quote requests, and malicious activity targeting the Platform or its users.
  • To comply with legal obligations: Responding to lawful requests from courts, regulators, and law enforcement agencies.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service: Investigating and addressing violations of our policies by Haulers or Consumers.

We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without human review.

05 Lead Routing — How Consumer Data Reaches Haulers

Important disclosure: When you submit a quote request or job posting, your contact information is shared with junk removal service providers. This is the core function of the marketplace. Please read this section carefully before submitting any request.

How it works: When a Consumer submits a quote request, booking inquiry, or job posting, the Platform identifies Haulers operating in the Consumer's service area and transmits the lead to them. The lead typically includes the Consumer's:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Service address or zip code
  • Item description and job details
  • Any uploaded photos associated with the request

Who receives the lead: Leads may be transmitted to one or more Haulers who have active, verified listings covering the Consumer's location. The number of Haulers who receive any given lead depends on market density in that area.

What Haulers do with your data: Once a lead is transmitted to a Hauler, that Hauler becomes an independent data controller for your contact information. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policy, not this one. We require Haulers to use Consumer contact information solely for responding to the relevant service request, but we cannot guarantee or police their practices after transmission.

How to limit lead sharing: If you do not wish your contact information to be shared with Haulers, do not submit quote requests or job postings through the Platform. You may use the directory to browse and obtain Hauler contact information and reach out to them directly, without submitting a lead through our system.

Job Board: When you post a job on the Job Board, your job description and service address (at street or zip level, as you specify) are visible to registered Haulers on the Platform. Your direct contact information is not publicly displayed but is shared with Haulers who submit a bid that you accept.

06 Analytics, Cookies & Tracking Technologies

6.1 Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4, operated by Google LLC, to measure Platform traffic and user behavior. GA4 collects data including pages visited, session duration, referring sources, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and behavioral events such as search queries and button clicks. This data is processed under Google's privacy policy and may involve the transfer of data to Google's servers in the United States. You can opt out of GA4 tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On or by enabling "Do Not Track" in a supported browser.

6.2 Ahrefs Analytics

We use Ahrefs Analytics for additional traffic measurement. Ahrefs collects similar behavioral and device data as described above. Their data practices are governed by Ahrefs' Privacy Policy.

6.3 Cookies

Cookie TypePurposeDuration
Session cookiesMaintaining admin authentication state; keeping search filter preferences during a browsing session.Session (deleted on browser close)
Analytics cookies (GA4)Distinguishing users, measuring traffic sources, and recording behavioral events for Google Analytics.Up to 2 years
Analytics cookies (Ahrefs)Site traffic measurement for Ahrefs Analytics.Up to 1 year
Preference cookiesRemembering user interface preferences such as last-selected state or search mode.Up to 90 days

Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a cookie is set. Disabling cookies may impair some Platform functionality. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or retargeting technologies.

6.4 Server Log Data

Our web servers automatically record each HTTP request, including the requesting IP address, timestamp, URL, HTTP status code, and bytes transferred. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days and used for security monitoring, performance analysis, and abuse detection. IP addresses in logs are not cross-referenced with personal identity information for marketing purposes.

07 AI-Powered Image Processing (JunkScan AI)

When you use JunkScan AI: Photos you upload are transmitted to OpenAI's API for analysis. Please do not upload photos containing identifiable faces, sensitive personal documents, or images you would not want processed by a third-party AI service.

How it works: JunkScan AI allows you to upload one or more photos of items you want removed. The photos are transmitted over an encrypted connection to OpenAI, L.L.C. ("OpenAI"), which processes them using its vision AI models to estimate junk volume, item categories, and complexity. We then apply market-specific pricing data to generate a price range estimate.

What we do with uploaded photos:

  • Photos are transmitted to OpenAI solely for the purpose of generating your estimate and are not retained by us beyond the active session unless you explicitly save your estimate.
  • OpenAI's processing of your images is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy. OpenAI does not use API-submitted images to train its models, pursuant to its API data usage policies as of the date of this Policy — however, you should consult OpenAI's current policy for the most up-to-date terms.
  • We do not use JunkScan AI photos to identify individuals, build consumer profiles, or link photos to any personally identifiable information unless you have also submitted a quote request with contact details.

EXIF and metadata: Photos taken on mobile devices may contain EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates, device model, and timestamp. We strip EXIF metadata from uploaded photos before transmitting them to OpenAI. However, we cannot guarantee the complete removal of all metadata in all image formats and recommend disabling location services on your camera app if you have privacy concerns about GPS-tagged images.

Home interior photos: If you upload photos of home interiors, those photos may reveal personal belongings, decor, layout, and other details about your living space. Please exercise discretion when uploading photos you would not want processed by third-party AI systems.

08 Business Listings & Service Provider Profiles

8.1 Public information: The following information in a Hauler's profile is publicly displayed on the Platform and indexed by search engines: company name, city, state, phone number (if provided), website URL, service area, specialties, business description, review ratings, and uploaded photos.

8.2 Verified documents: Business licenses and insurance certificates uploaded to verify a listing are used solely for our internal verification process. These documents are not publicly displayed and are retained in encrypted storage. They may be reviewed by our team when a Consumer or other party disputes a listing's credentials.

8.3 Account data: Email addresses and passwords used to manage a business profile are stored securely (passwords are hashed and salted) and are not shared with Consumers or other Haulers.

8.4 Removal of listings: Haulers may request removal of their listing by contacting us. Upon verified request, public profile information will be delisted within 10 business days. Residual copies in search engine caches or third-party archives are outside our control.

8.5 Disputes about listed information: If you believe your business has been listed on the Platform without your authorization, or that listing information is inaccurate, contact us using the information in Section 22. We will investigate and respond within 5 business days.

09 Job Board

The Job Board allows Consumers to post junk removal jobs and Haulers to submit bids. The following privacy considerations apply:

  • Job visibility: Posted jobs are visible to registered Haulers on the Platform. Job descriptions include item type, approximate location (zip code or neighborhood — we do not display full street addresses publicly), preferred timing, and any photos you choose to upload.
  • Contact information: Your name and contact details are not publicly shown on job listings. They are shared only with Haulers whose bids you accept.
  • Job photos: Photos uploaded with a job posting are visible to Haulers browsing the board. Please do not include photos containing sensitive personal documents, faces, or other information you would not want shared with prospective service providers.
  • Job retention: Active job postings are displayed until filled or expired (typically 30 days). Expired jobs are removed from public display but may be retained in our database for up to 12 months for dispute resolution and Platform integrity purposes.
  • Bid data: Haulers who submit bids on your job provide their contact information as part of the bid. This information is shared with you so you can evaluate and select a provider.

10 Communications

10.1 Transactional emails: We send email communications related to your activity on the Platform, including quote request confirmations, lead notifications (to Haulers), job board alerts, listing verification updates, and security notices. These are necessary for the operation of the Platform and are sent regardless of marketing preferences.

10.2 Marketing communications: We do not currently operate an email marketing or newsletter program. If we introduce marketing communications in the future, we will obtain your explicit opt-in consent before sending them, and every marketing email will include an unsubscribe mechanism compliant with the CAN-SPAM Act.

10.3 SMS communications: We do not currently send promotional SMS messages. If quote request confirmations or lead alerts are sent via SMS in the future, we will obtain your prior express written consent as required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Standard message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of SMS communications by replying STOP to any message we send.

10.4 Contact form: Messages submitted through our contact form are received by our team and used solely to respond to your inquiry. Contact form data is retained for up to 24 months.

10.5 Anti-spam: We use honeypot fields and other technical measures to detect and discard form submissions made by automated bots. These measures do not collect or store data from legitimate users.

11 Third-Party Service Providers

We share personal information with third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Platform. These vendors are contractually bound to use data only as directed by us and in accordance with applicable law.

We do not share personal information with advertising networks, data brokers, or any third party for the purpose of marketing to you outside the Platform.

Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or bankruptcy proceeding, personal information may be among the assets transferred. We will provide notice on the Platform and, where required by law, directly to affected users, before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Legal disclosures: We may disclose personal information in response to a valid subpoena, court order, government investigation, or other legal process. When permitted by law, we will notify affected users before disclosing, unless notification is prohibited or would compromise the investigation.

Safety disclosures: We may disclose information without prior notice if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm, fraud, or illegal activity targeting the Platform or its users.

12 Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, including:

  • TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit between your browser and our servers
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest (insurance documents, account credentials)
  • Password hashing using modern one-way algorithms (passwords are never stored in plain text)
  • Role-based access controls limiting staff access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
  • Regular security monitoring of server logs and API endpoints for anomalous activity
  • Honeypot fields and rate limiting to prevent automated form abuse

No security system is impenetrable. In the event of a data breach that creates a risk of harm to affected individuals, we will notify impacted users and relevant regulators as required by applicable breach notification laws, including the notification timelines prescribed by state law (e.g., 30–72 hours under California, Colorado, and other state statutes).

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any password or account credentials you create. Do not share your login credentials with third parties.

18 Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use the Platform or provide any information to us.

If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, contact us immediately at the address in Section 22.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 should use the Platform only with parental or guardian supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 18 for the purpose of routing to Haulers without parental consent.

19 Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information to data brokers, advertising networks, or other third parties in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state statutes.

We do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or interest-based advertising targeting.

What we do share, and why it is not a "sale": When you submit a quote request, your contact information is transmitted to Haulers as part of the Platform's core marketplace function — connecting you with service providers who can fulfill your request. This transmission is the performance of the service contract you initiate by submitting a request, not a commercial sale of data for advertising or profiling purposes.

If you wish to ensure your contact information is not shared with any Hauler, do not submit quote requests or job postings. You may use the directory in read-only mode to find Hauler contact information and reach out to them independently.

To make a Do Not Sell or Share request, or to request an opt-out of any future data sharing we may introduce, contact us using the information in Section 22.
